Check your "car manual". All the information is there

Open hood.
Locate the white handle for the dip stick.
Pull until dip stick is fully out.
Wipe off dip stick then place it back. (So you can get an accurate oil level)
Pull dip stick out again.
Check if oil level is between the recommended fill lines. (While the car is still cold)
Repeat set 4
Close hood

Make sure your car is on a level surface as well.

So mine is between the line when it's cold , checked the car first thing in the morning before I turn it on or do anything. It's above the line after I drive for an hour, turn off the car and check. That's okay right?

Between the line when its cold, your good man. It will fluctuate with you driving. Always check it when its been sitting a while. I usually check mine after I fillup with gas.

I've only been active in this "community" for a couple weeks since I picked up the evo but everyone here is great. If somebody asked this question on any other forums, they would of never came back. You guys are great.
