Unit came from a 2014 Subaru Forester.

There are 3 wires on this pigtail / harness. 1 wire has a white strip along it and the other 2 are just black. The wire with the white strip is the auto dim / compass wire. This wire i extended all the way to the fuse and used an add a fuse to the cig lighter. The other 2 black wires are the Homelink and ground. In this harness, the Homelink wire (inside) is silver in color, the ground was the same color as the wire with the white strip (bronze). The Homelink (Silverinside ) wire i just tapped to the Red wire on the map connector while the other black (bronze inside) i tapped to the black wire of the map light connector.

What does the homelink unit do? Aside from the compass

 

awesome man. thinking about picking one of these up

 

auto dim and garage door opener.

 

Just ordered one of these and received it in (newer 2014 model) since we replaced the garagedoor opener and it uses the new Homelink 2 technology.

Looking for ward to installing it.

Not trying to thread jack this but I purchased one and the EVO is gone. so if anyone is interested I have a Gentex one (they make most if not all of the OEM ones) with Auto Dim and Homelink sitting in the bubble wrap feel free to PM me
