Got my X!!
Just Aero, Nav, and an interior package. $40,700 was out the door after tax. Sticker was $38,600. I just paid MSRP. I'm not sure what all the guys are *****ing about
It isn't their money.
If you guys can walk in and get a GSR with all these options for less than that and feel like you "didn't get ****ed in the ***"....more power to you. Enjoy the money you save. I paid MSRP and I have one sitting in my garage right next to my 8

It looks meaner sitting next to the 8, handles better, stops better, rides smoother, drives better, feels equally as fast...maybe quicker, is safer for my family, is quieter, and my wife actually likes it.
Other than that it sucks!!!

you guys act like 40 is such a big number. my buddy paid 40 for his evo 8 mr in 05. its not that crazy if you think about it. when its all taxed and licensed, 40 is about what you pay.
so getting a X for 40 isnt really that bad at all.

Maybe. But I sure am enjoying having one to drive right now, and I personally like the 5 speed over the auto or whatever they are calling it. I'm not sure how the MR trans will handle a couple hundred extra horsepower.
Here's a couple pictures from Saturday. We finally had a nice enough day to go hit some turns. Also did a 15-100mph pull with my friend's stock 03 VIII and it was dead nuts even (closed track of course
) If you guys have hopes of this being as quick as some of the 05 VIIIs and the IXs that ran high 12s completely stock...go ahead and **** in one hand and wish in the other and see which one weighs more. This car is heavier and makes = or less power. I think 13.4-13.5s will be rare with a stock clutch, and an MR will be a high 13 or slower car, but a few bolt-ons and it will make better power (as you all have seen from the vendors
)
We took a local road close to my house that is pretty treacherous. It has about fifteen 90 degree switchbacks...all 2nd gear and then you sprint to anywhere from 60-100mph between corners. It is a road that an EVO or STI will shine on, and it really puts the brakes through a workout. Most cars I take through there hard lose pedal by the end of it.
I led and the VIII had no problem keeping up, but it was definately a different line for both cars. He is an experienced auto-x'er and at times I could tell he was pushing harder than I was. I've taken this many times in my 05, and the new car goes through there faster with much less effort. It felt so controlled instead of on the edge. The AYC's prescence is there, but it isn't something that interferes so much that you feel it working. My brakes felt 100% through the entire stretch, which is something that I can't say for any other car I have driven through there, and the VIII showed great fatigue in this area...as you will see
I think he was charging pretty hard and late braking to gain some ground. Enjoy the few pics I snapped.

Whoops! Apparently EVO X brakes > EVO VIII brakes
Thank goodness for AWD and good fortune.
