HELP - Power & Ground location in engine bay.
Hey guys,
I need your help.
I am a pretty NUB at installing anything that involves wiring.
I am installing some HID kits for the fog lights and looking for a place to connect the power and ground from the balast.
Any suggestions?
If there was a battery in the engine bay. I would just go straight to power and ground on the battery.
But since the X's batter is the in rear, I am little lost.
HELP PLEASE.
Thank you.

you really should have gone with a plug and play kit that would simply plug into the oem bulb sockets for power/ground. now you will have to cut wires up to splice into them.
Get a test light, put it on each pin inside the socket that plugs into your bulb, turn on your lights, when you get power, you have found the correct pin/cable. you need to splice into this cable for power. someone will correct me if im wrong.
good luck.

if you look inyour manual they show where you can hook to a Positive post to your battery , if you need large power then this is the best place. other wires maynot be able to handle the power draw needed. not to mention you should use your own inline fuse. the first post is best. get a kit with plug and play connection to your exsisting lights that is the best..

Hey Guys, thanks for the advice.
Even with the plug and play HID kits. power and ground is needed for the balast.(I am pretty sure of this anyway)
I never seen HID with a plug and play that takes all the power from the OEM bulb socket.
Thanks.
PS.... I think. I might have to remove the bumper to install the HID kit. (I just can't see a way to mount the ballast without doing that. =(

yup yup, plug and play gets power and ground directly from the socket. its a beautiful thing... if u dont mind me saying...i suggest u sell your current kit and get a plug and play one so u dont have to hack up your wires. (if you havent installed it yet). PM me and i will link u to a site that sells quality HID kits for very cheap ($165 + shipping) any color temp. Ive used kits from this site and NEVER had any issues.
BTW, whats the factory non HID bulb type ?
