Powdercoating doesn't hurt any type of wheels. (Anymore)
Reason being is only if the powdercoater uses a specific kind of powder, low temp curing powder. I recently had my intake manifold and throttle body (Only the exterior, obviously), and I never took out the seals from the T/B. He used a low temp curing powdercoat that cures at only 180 degrees, but is just as durable. Shoot, the T/B used to get 200+ degrees with coolant circulating through it..
Basically, powdercoating, provided the coater uses the right powder will no longer hurt wheels anymore. (Even though I never believed it did before anyways, but that's just me..)
