$40 MOD looks big different. =)
I've spray painted my wheels in the past. They actually turned out pretty good in my opinion. I also plan to spray paint my next set of wheels.
For those who are against painting as opposed to powdercoating -- for me has nothing to do with heat and integrity, it's all about cost effectiveness.
Powdercoating will range from $60 to $100 each wheel.
Spraypaingint will range from $3 to $10 each wheel.
If done right, you probably can't tell the difference. And if you paint them right (prep them well and use professional grade paint) it will not peel off and will last for years.
But even if it does peel or it gets scratched, or nicked, all you need to do is sand it down smooth, clean the surfaces, and spray it again. If you have any left over paint it's a free fix. It's really simple and super cost effective.
I'd rather paint the wheels, and put the $350 I saved into other things like a downpipe, O2 housing, Ported manifold, or other bolt-on performance upgrades and such.

On a side note, XEVOlover, I just noticed you're going to have a silver spot on the lip of your wheel when you get your wheels re-balanced... see what I'm saying?
But I guess you can just touch it up when the time comes.

i know cause the balance metal.that is alright when the time i get my new set of tires i will get new rims too, maybe .lol or just sand it and paint it again.
If you sand them between coats there should be no problem with them flaking. I just picked up a can of krylon Flat black paint for my Subaru's steelies. I just did a quick paint and it's been holding up 100% so far for about 2 months now. That is even spraying them with a pressure washer!
I think it looks really good and I'm sure the integrity will hold just nicely, and if not as well, omg another coat of paint! the world is going to end! Just because it's cost effective doesn't make it necessarily crappy.
for you guys saying that its crappy or ricey or whatever to use a cheap thing for a higher class car....
for performance, why would anybody buy an evo when you could buy a ferrari? Because you can get just as good performance from an evo with a little work as a ferrari can and spend a crap load less money
