OEM Navigation Installed

I decided to post a couple of pictures of how the nav with the bracket and wiring harness should look like for future reference, especially to those who might come across a used nav for sale and without the instruction sheet.

I put the nav/bracket/wiring haness last night, took about 30 minutes. this morning i did the rest and took me another maybe 30 minutes.

I have a question to those that needed the patch to watch dvd's. does it take a while before the nav knows that you are in motion? i started the car and it played the movie, i put it in first gear and moved forward and it was still playing. i put it in reverse and it was still playing.

the question is, does it keep playing after you start driving?

im pritty sure you have to hook the E-brake wire to a ground on the chassis that way it makes the navi think its got the E-brake on that should let it keep playing.

it works on the aftermarket ones.

thats what i was thinking. he needs to drive and see if the display remains.

i tested a GTS with the Navi and when you start driving, you hear the audio only, but when you roll to a stop, the display (movie) comes back on.

thanks guys, just that after the install i couldnt drive it since i had to go back into the house to attend to more pressing matters. i will drive it tonight to go to our weekly evo meets and will try it out. i gotta say though that the handbrake had nothing to do with it as i was going forward then reverse to backup to the garage and it was still playing.
