Some help and advice

I'm going to debadge the back of my X.

I'm tempeted to take the lot off, but also think keeping the "Evolution" badge looks okay. What do you guys think?

Also, do i just use a hair dryer to heatup and removed the badge? Anything else I need to do..... what are the risks?

Thanks for the help and advice.

Michael

I'm trying to make my car look less like a standard lancer ... hence removing the logo

I can see why you like what you have done, but it is a bit in your face for me .....

i see, hence you just want to leave the smaller evolution badge. i would suggest then to just leave it completely badgeless.

If you're trying to make it look less like a base Lancer, I would just remove the "Lancer" badge, and definitely keep the Evolution.

I personally like the diamonds so I would leave them too but that's up to you.

Yup, just heat the badge up to take it off, or wait for a warm/hot day (80F & up). Use dental floss or fishing wire to slide behind the badges when pealing them off. May want to use Goo-gone to remove some sticky residue when you're done. This is pretty much what I did. Only risks are removing it too quickly & hard & possibly taking off a miniscule bit of paint. The "Mitsubishi" one snapped into separate pieces for me & did not come off as easily as the "Lancer" one. I left the "Evolution" badge & the mitsu symbol on my trunk, so I like that one, but I do also like the completely debadged look.

hope this helped

Noob question but will goo-gone damage the paint at all?

^ didn't do anything at all to mine. if you don't feel comfortable putting it directly on the paint, dab it onto a soft cloth, then gently rub over the sticky spots.

I removed all my badges.

This may look good- remove all but the "evolution" badge and paint it black like on the old MRs.

if someone thinks your car looks more like a base lancer because of the words lancer evolution, then theres a problem.

badging would be one of the last things i worry about my car being compared to a lancer..

although i like the diamond with everything else debadged.

I suggest using floss over fishing line. It's a hell of a lot stronger for it's thinness. And also I would say don't go for the option of removing everything else but "evolution" that's how mine is now and it looks kinda lame. I would say remove everything but the diamond. Or remove everything and get the evolution X badge and put it near the center of the trunk. Either way good luck, it's easy to debadge, harder to RE-badge.

i like it debadged fully !
but then again , i don't think it makes too big of a difference, either fully debadged or just keep the evolution on it.

it seemed to come right off with a blowdryer, floss and googone on cloth for whatever is left over
