Not sure why heat guns are needed, since I just took the Mitsu and Lancer badges off about a few hours ago and I just use some dental floss by itself. I'm thinking about blacking out the star and the "evolution" badge.

If you use heat gun or even a hair dryer to heat up the surface the glue residue used to attach badges will come off with ease. it's pretty much effortless

I didn't need no heat. The day I bought my car I used some dental floss and everything lifted up with ease.

Maybe the longer you let it sit on the car ion the sun the harder it will be to take off.

I went completly badge less and It looks nice and clean

It's not hot everywhere... If the glue is cold, the dental floss is pretty much worthless.

I guess you are right. The car was sitting on the sidewalk for several hours in the sun when I decided to take the emblems off with dental floss.
