blacked out some chrome

sanded everything down as much as possible, used black sandable spray primer, black spray paint, and clear coat spray.

looks really nice, something I wanted to do. How did you take out the front emblem and the button in the back?

i took 2 very small flat head screw drivers and pried off the front emblem. and then i took off the trunk liner and unscrewed the 2 very small screws that hold on the smart key button. once thats off i popped out the chrome piece with my finger. it was very easy

I did the same to my front emblem on my IX. It looks like it's debadged until you get closer. Love it.

When I took off the front emblem, one of the diamonds broke off.... I'm wondering if it would look horrible if I just glued it back together, painted it, then re-install it...? We shall see I guess.

lol thats really funny because the top diamond broke off when i was sanding my front badge. i just sanded down the rough edges where it broke and stuck it back on in 2 peices after painting. you can barly notice man. look at the pics above

i did the same thing, my front emblem got chipped up in less than a week.

i just left mine on the car, taped around it, and sprayed it.
seems easier.

you can also take off the whole trunk button by sliding the metal piece on the inside out... that also seems easier
