If you could change the X's interior..
any other sub $$$ car with faux carbon fiber
Carbon fiber is for weight reduction, if you not reducing weight don't use it.
the above is in reference to carbon fiber interiors...
now if your talking replacing heavy components (doors, hood, etc) with light weight carbon fiber thats something else entirely
The first thing I changed was the shift knob. Then I got rid of that cheap looking shift boot.
The interior does feel and look really cheap, but that's fine with me. I'd rather make the exterior look a lot nicer.

but this BMW!!! THAT FABRIC WOULD LOOK AWESOME IN AN X!!!!! http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270907
^ i wrapped my boyfriends for him as a surprise , and he really liked it, it looks a lot better than the cheap looking plastic.
i'd like if the trim came factory with a nicer fabric than than the plastic and also if the back of the car had trim. i think the cluster in the middle with the radio controls and AC looks cheap too. that would be cool if that was spruced up some how. the models w/ the navi look a lot better too.
all of this would be nice but i think i like the simplicity of the 8 and 9 interiors over the X still. just feels more '' evo '' like.

1a. Have interior plastics painted to match the color and finish of the dash (the different shades of black look so bad...
1b. Trash the GSR dash and door garnish pieces for those in the MR
2. New shift knob
3. New shift boot
P.S. And PLEASE, if you or someone you know is selling their MR interior trim pieces please let me know.

. I have navi so I'm not *****ing too much (except for maybe the navi, but that's another thread). My biggest complaint is the top dash in hard plastic, and the top of the door panels. Once those are padded I think I'd be 100% ok with it all.
I wouldnt want to add any additional weight to the X. Everything leather would look nice though. I like the matte paint idea and using fabric to reupholster the seats black and grey, with just a bit of leather to protect the bolsters from entry/exit wear. You could do alot without making it weigh more.
I don't see how thats rice at all
Personally if it was my car, the only 2 things i would change would be the Ebrake Handle and the shift boot... Other than that i think it looks great... Can someone please explain how this is rice at all

1) The semi-random stitching of a brand name into things is remincent of putting "go fast" stickers on the car.
2) The harness is ricey. The color cements the ricey. Take it out when you're not on the track, otherwise, frankly, you look like a ricer. Sorry.
3) You spent the time and money to make/purchase/create a carbon fiber "Mitsubishi" logo for the inside of your car. Did you think maybe you were in a Subaru, and wanted to be reminded? It's minor things like that that scream rice to me; oh, look at me, I spent money on a logo, tee-hee. You can think it looks good, your prerogative, but it's leaning towards rice.
4) Spending money on a shifter knob is arguably useful; some feel much better. Spending money on a handbrake is not. There's little reason to do that, unless you're actively using it in competition racing or something, but the fact I can see, what I believe to be, a DVD case in the side pocket, says "I'm going to Blockbuster with my mom" and not "I'm going drifting, yo". The garage door opener in the cup holder is another amusing quirk to me; I'm sure that'll stay in there real well when you're racing, but evidently the harness is needed for your daily trek.
But, hey, each to their own.

IMO the MR interior with the new 2010 console is actually a very nice setup. Almost too nice for an EVO. The GSR with that carbon fiber/checker finish and lack of leather trim looks low rent in comparison even though most of the interior is the same.
the X GSR interior looks like a colorless black hole
:
BTW,
IMHO Bride, Takata, Nardi, Ect.... are all just a bunch of JDM fan boi brand names that are waaaaaay over priced. That being said, this owner obviously feels different about these components and therefore has invested (spent is a better term) a few thousand dollars to make his interior the way he wanted it.
It's not for me, but if he likes it than ROCK ON man. Don't listen to what anyone says on the internet about your car. It's your car and you can do what ever you want to it.
