1. Better quality plastics - I recall reading the reviews preceding the model launch. Almost every one praised the (err...) "upgraded" interior. After getting into the car and realizing that its dash was made of hard, hollow-feeling materials, I couldn't imagine what the reports were talking about. In terms of materials' quality, it's a step backwards.

2. Center-mounted tach - I realize this is purely an issue of personal preference, but I really like having a big tach right in the middle.

3. Factory gauges - C'mon, Mitsu, how about at least a boost gauge?

So you're saying that he should take the time to put in his Harnesses when he's going to the track, and then take the time to take them out again when he gets back? otherwise he looks like a ricer?

Oh yes at least a boost gauge. For a turboed car, we need at least a boost gauge.

Mitsubishi needs to do the EVO X interior like the BMW E46 M3 CSL. Carbon Fiber, light weight doors, light weight seats, etc....but still very comfortable and high quality.

That would be great but don't forget the M3 CSL cost the equivalent of around 100,000 US Dollars.

Actually, I was hinting at the fact he most likely never tracks his car to begin with.

The only thing that I really want it is a telescoping steering wheel.

^ your interior looks nice , not '' rice ''
i like how it's JUST the bride fabric and cf fabric on the trim, just sticking w/ two diff textures and one same color looks a lot more tasteful. good job.

btw, i also have about a yard of fabric left over as well , which is more than enough for the trim.

I agree; it looks very good. Personally, I don't really understand the need to display a brand name, but the look is nicely understated and well-integrated into the overall package. It's something to be proud of.

3) You spent the time and money to make/purchase/create a carbon fiber "Mitsubishi" logo for the inside of your car. Did you think maybe you were in a Subaru, and wanted to be reminded? It's minor things like that that scream rice to me; oh, look at me, I spent money on a logo, tee-hee. You can think it looks good, your prerogative, but it's leaning towards rice.
4) Spending money on a shifter knob is arguably useful; some feel much better. Spending money on a handbrake is not. There's little reason to do that, unless you're actively using it in competition racing or something, but the fact I can see, what I believe to be, a DVD case in the side pocket, says "I'm going to Blockbuster with my mom" and not "I'm going drifting, yo". The garage door opener in the cup holder is another amusing quirk to me; I'm sure that'll stay in there real well when you're racing, but evidently the harness is needed for your daily trek.

But, hey, each to their own.

okay...wait for it.....wait.....
