chargespeed mirrors review...
hi, i,ll start of by saying the evo is a great looking car but there are some things on it i just don,t like. the side view mirrors are one such thing, they are huge compared to the rest of the car and do not belong on an evo but a truck, saying that, i started looking for some replacement mirrors.
the search started with the usual suspects, jun, craft square, to me they look too small and belong on race cars, then i saw the ganador ones, these looked to be the winners, but could not find any without the blinker, i do not need tons of blinkers on the car.
then a forum member had some chargespeed mirrors for sale in canada, i liked what i saw and bought them from him. when they arrived they had a really nice finish a true 1x1 carbon weave, but the mirrors installed were crap, the edges were not sanded smooth and had a lot of chips on them around the edges(back to this)
for install you have to use your oem mirrors backing, so i took apart my mirrors and started the install, then found out the hard way, these mirrors were for a right hand drive car, not a left hand car, so the brackets would not fit, this was something not disclosed to me when i bought the mirrors, and was told they would fit, so i started searching for brackets and found some, spend more money and bought a set of rhd brackets, thanks to the seller as he helped with some of the cost.
once the bracket arrived, i had deceided to sell them as they were not heated and my beater had died, so i needed to drive the evo in winter, but luckly i ended up with another beater and went ahead with the install.
i had deceide to paint the mirrors white as i don,t like the contrast, chargespeed for some reason decided not to finish the edges they are rough and serrarted, wish i took some before pictures, so sanded all the edges smooth, filled in all the pinholes something i guess left over from the resin stage, built up the parts that needed built up for the oem fit and finish, once happy with the finish i send them out to get painted,
i had new mirrors cut, i sanded the edges smooth, then put black mirror primer around the edges again to give it that oem finish, as they do not have backing plates, then installed them
overall the fit and finish is 100 percent, they look amazing on the car, the mirrors look a million times better, a lot of work was spend to get them to where they are, the passenger mirror is a little hard to see from , but the drivers side is fine, the pictures were taken in rain, will take more once the duluck trunk is painted and its summer, hope you like

for what it is, I expected that all JDM products will come finished in perfect showroom condition. Unfortunately, you the bad end of the stick on this one. But a lot of heart and dedication went into this, gratz on pulling thru where others would of quit.
