In general, cars like this cannot pass crash test requirements in the states. Thank your politicians for overly stringent crash test requirements that do not allow for such niche cars to ever come here.

Equally important is the emissions requirements. This was the problem that the Evo 7s faced.

Very true, valid point. Its not even that they CAN'T pass, its that certification and whatnot are too expensive and have diminishing returns for niche cars like this. Though to be fair, there are probably a lot of specialty cars that would spit in the face of emission restrictions and have zero chance of passing...
