Actually, I'm going to go a step further: I'll wire it directly into the headlights, so when it's time to shift, EVERYONE will know, including the cops.

Why stop there? Make it intermittently honk the horn so even the visually impaired know? Just like the slow blink to rapid blink to solid light idea, you can make the horn honk slowly then rapidly then have it like you're laying the horn down solid!

Now that you know WHEN to shift using fancy lights and honking horn, now you'll need to know what gear you're in and what gear you're going into with this:

Geez, I completely didn't notice that you were the OP for this thread.. lol, walked right into that one.

Regardless, I still like my stealth LED idea.. even the new $375k Lexus LF-A has something similar, except it beeps really loud. But don't worry.. I'm sure you can install a secondary shift-light for the ladies!

It's going to be epic.

Oh, and when VTEC kicks in, I'm totally going to be enjoying it too much for my own good.
Dude, an LED marquee that flashed "DANGER TO MANFOLD!" would be epic!

Ya, probably for most people that would buy a manual and already know how to hear/feel when to change gears.. but for someone just learning, or someone with hearing problems (or just an over-the-top stereo), I'd imagine it might be useful.
