* shroud
* HID kit (if your HLs dont already come with them)

Sounds like you have a a GSR with non-SSS HLs.... This is a different kettle of fish which will require more work. In the end its not gonna look the same as a SSS headlight
You hit the nail on the head - i have a non-SSS GSR, I didn't need all the other bells and whistles, just the HIDs. Maybe I should just PM you or simply email me bshiring@gmail.com - I would greatly appreciate it. Did you plasti-dip the halogen housing HLs? What kind of shrouds were used, etc. Here's a link of the ride - the black housing HIDs would look soo much better with the CF and the Advans..

Nice! Love the black housing, much better than the tacky chrome on the MR's.

BTW, what are the specs on your wheels?

Nothing special. Just VOLK CE28n in modest 18 x 9.5 +28.

Im a little confused as to the final look that youre after...
You enquired about E55 (Hella) BiXenon projectors & shrouds in post #44

but

you're not after the "other bells and whistles, just HIDs"

So what will it be? I assume you're happy to just stick with non-SSS HLs and modify these? If so, there are 2 potential looks you can achieve:

1. http://www.lightwerkz.net/gallery/ma...serialNumber=2

Pic extracted from:
http://www.lightwerkz.net/gallery/ma...g2_itemId=3856

This look consists of:
- non-SSS HLs
- E46-R shrouds (Replica BMW M3 E46 shrouds)
- HID projector (unsure of which model projector, most probably a single Xenon unit (low beam only))
- D2S HID kit

2. I dont know of any supporting pix of this look but its just a blacking out of all the chrome bits of a non-SSS HL (no retrotting of projectors or shrouds). Only parts left chrome are the:
- low &
- high beam reflectors

In your case, the inclusion of a HID kit for the low beam.

If you know of any non-SSS HLs with this look please post. Yet to see one!

That's what I was after. Those photos are exactly what I intend on doing. I was thinking the OP had non-SSS headlights and the photos were the non-SSS headlights modified, painted black and had the retrofitting done. Thanks for all your help!
