Question BBS wheels painted Hyper Black?

I have a Phantom Black Evo 10 MR-T, I love the stock BBS wheels and I get lots of positive comments but I have some minor curb rash and it is time for new tires so I am thinking of having the BBS wheels painted (or powder coated) Hyper black. I want an opinion if this would look good or should I stay with the stock Silver/grey color on the wheels?

Thanx,

Paul

1) Black with red stripe along the circumference of the wheel
2) dark-as-hell tint
3) red lugs

don't do red stripes or the black its kinda tacky. bbs are ment to look classy. if you want something like that put on some tenzo's they come like that. keep the stock color bbs look.

Just paint them black with black engine enamel and then a couple coats of clear. My friend did this and they look really good.

You know what, you're probably right, If it was my car, I wouldn't've even touched the wheel. I would've probably went the after market route like you suggested.

On my GSR, I kept tghe stock wheels with my winter setup and got a wider black AME TM02 with a summer set. Not really a fan of painting wheels, but if you want to do it, then I still stand by my original suggestion.

hey kmart, i know you got the evoscan GPS nav unit and were not happy with it not working. I posted in the OTHER forum some settings you can use right out of the box. Give it a shot, I think you'll like it.

sorry for hijacking the thread, just a quick pointer to the OP.

Thanks, I agree, I just thought the "Hyper Black" (a shiny black + pearl paint giving it a super glossy dark silver look, kinda black chrome but a bit more subtle) would look good with the Phantom Black car but I am afraid to change anything on the look of the stock BBS's, hence my request for opinions.

yea just keep it stock because it will be worth the most the way it is. if you want to get something thats black just find new rims and u can switch them around. i think the bbs look really nice on them the way it is so many gsr owners want to buy it so if you ever post something about selling them im sure there will be a handfull of them e mailing u. i would keep them if i were you they are great the way the they are and they are light. so many gsr owners have asked me to sell the bbs to them.

I am not changing them for aftermarket, I love the look of the BBS, one of the many reasons I bought an MR! I guess I will leave them stock color and just get the curb rash fixed, I was leaning that way before posting this thread anyway. Thank you and others for your opinions!

The time attack color scheme is a good idea. (Satin black with a red lip) It's ricey if it is done on a Konig wheel, but should look money on a BBS wheel. In fact some BBS wheels are offered in the time attack color.. (food for thought)

Don't care for it (from the picture anyway). I had satin black wheels on the silver SRT4 and gloss black wheels on the silver S2000 and they both turned out well but it would not look right on the stock BBS wheels with a black car imo. It will be either Hyper Black without the red stripe or stock color and I am leaning toward the stock color.

^^ I think the centercap is what messes everything up on that evo. My neighbor has a TB Evo 9 with said wheels paint job and they look very good. But its your choice, If you don't like, don't do it.
