Yes, I do believe doing the conversion on the Lancer would be about the same thing.

Glad you guys enjoy it!

everything is the same except the Gauge cluster. Lancers have significantly less led lighting. The 3 plcc-2's around the needles also light up the gauge faces (compared to the evo's having an array of leds with a plastic diffuser for both faces) Mitsu cut costs on these so just letting you know ahead of time that you'll need to wire up and or fab up a way to light up the gauge faces as there's empty space behind them. I did a color changing needle for a local gts owner and ended up fabricating my own circuit board to fit into the area behind the tach and speedo. Just letting you know ahead of time so your prepared

Attention to detail is important yes, but the whole conversion takes around 12 hours now for every component. Not a long time if you ask me. Engine swaps take days/months.

Amazing job! I am in love with that color changing needle. So now I need to find out how to perform this to my car.

There is a how-to on another forum. It's evox forums .com without the spaces. If you can find that thread, there's some technical information there.

Two disclaimers tho. First, you need soldering and technical experience! Second, there is no such thing as a pink or purple led. There are tri-color LEDs that can make purple and pink, but they will not work on these cars.

How did you get the AEM gauge apart to replace the leds?

Very carefully. It does void the warranty though. I am actually converting an AEM Trans Temp gauge this weekend.
