Finally a X owner!

Finally got my X on Friday. 2010 GG GSR with SSS and Nav. 5,400 miles currently. Definitely not disappointed with my decision. I love this car. Very impressed by performance, handling and ride and everything. So far changed the oil and trans fluid to Amsoil, installed Nesei one piece UICP, Cobb AP stage 1 flash and have Pro Kit yet to install. Also coming are new bulbs for headlights, HID kit for fogs, T1R shift boot and Blox knob. Other little things in the works: Tint and clear bra on hood and fenders and door pulls, Full leather interior with Alcantara inserts and heated front seats, switching to DWS tires when it gets colder (new wheels and tires in the works for spring) and some other little cosmetics for now. Next performance mods, researching what intake I want to do with turbo inlet and what TBE I want to go with, maybe a LICP and then a real tune. Here's a few pics, sorry for resolution, they are phone pics.

Haha no I'm not. The AP, springs, and UICP i found in the classifieds from a guy who was trading his in and for the price I just couldn't pass them up and they were exactly what I wanted. Wanted to make sure all my fluids were good so swapped what I could to Amsoil and did a full underside inspection while I was there. I've wanted an Evo since the VIII came out and now finally got around to getting one. Started searching for IXs but eventually fell in love with the X and how mean and mature it looked compared. And the 4B11 wasn't a slouch compared to the 4G63 as I was thinking it might be back in 08. How loud is the UR? I want something noticeable but not annoying and great performance while looking good. I know the single sides are more free flowing and less restrictive but I definitely want to keep the dual, I like the look more.

Congrats on the new ride. since no one else has said it, let me be the first...the first mod should be the driver. if you can't drive the car to it's limits stock, then why raise the limits before you even find them? you'll be a slow driver with a fast car. one of those guys who's car is capable of very fast lap times, but you're 2-3 seconds off the pace. or a guy with an 11 second car that can barely break 12's. don't mod to overcome your deficiencies as a driver. become the best driver you can, then mod to overcome the deficiencies of the car as they relate to your driving style

Thanks for the advice. I've dealt with a decent amount of performance cars. I've owned and modded a 93 twin turbo RX-7 which I used to auto-x, a Jetta GLI 1.8T and work on and drive daily VWs, Audis and Porsches. This car is definitely different and every time I drive I try and learn it more and more. I've pretty much already nailed heal/toe in it. I took a corner a little faster than I should have on cold tires and took it sideways which surprised me (until I saw the back tires weren't the greatest), but this car is way more of a car than I anticipated. I wasn't planning on doing much at first when I got it, but those parts I found cheap. The intake and exhaust and tune probably won't be until early/mid next year so I can learn the car, which is why I'm doing more cosmetic/appearance stuff now. Might as well make it look more me as I'm learning and keep my eye out for stuff for sale in the classifieds. I eventually want to get it to 500-600 whp as long as it doesn't affect it's streetability too much. It sounds to me more than that and it sucks for street/dd. But that's a few years away, so lot's of things can happen between now and then. Mainly just normal bolt ons for now. And after what I have planned in the original post will have to slow down, need to work on the house too.

I know That was the biggest thing I hated about the car, but for what I got for the price I couldn't complain too much. I'm sure there aren't any GG owners who would want to swap, so if I can't find anyone who will and can't find an inexpensive alternative, I will probably pull them this winter and scuff and paint them myself, or see how much a shop will charge to do a pro job. Probably just go black on them, I think would look alright. Thanks for all the advice and congrats guys!! Glad to be a part of the family

Edit: Also I never knew there was an actual package from Mitsu for those chrome caps. I guess just because nobody ever wanted them here! Just my luck the one I get is the only one I've ever seen to have that package.
