So ive been interested in the duckbill trunk/spoiler for quite some time but the cost is killing me.... The frp is about $700.00 plus shiping, plus paint, plus install. So a conservative estimate with duty and shiping rolled in would be about $1200 when said and done.

I was originaly looking at the rexspeed duckbill (before I even knew the do luck existed) and it looks like the fit and finish is decent. The crappy deal with it is I have to now figure out how much it costs to fill the holes for the spoiler and re-paint ....... or do I?

My question is this:

Do all 2008 Lancers and Evo's have the same trunk? If so I could trade some guy in my town or area who has a wingless WW car (now with no holes) and BAM! duckbill trunk for about $280.00.

Do these trunks fit accross the board?

Ultimately someone is going to say why dont you save up for the do-luck ..... well... its not the money, I have the money, I just think it may be better spent on exhaust or something else.

hahah that is my car! I did the exact same thing. I found a local seller with a oem wingless standard lancer trunklid already painted white with the hole for the SSS button. I swapped out the lid and stuck on the rexspeed spoiler and sold my original trunklid with the tall spoiler to a guy locally. It pretty much evened out the costs.

so to answer your question yes its the same lid the only difference is if you have the SSS package you need to make sure it has that hole for it if not you are good to go.

 

Been looking for a WW Lancer to do the same in SoCal. Only spotted one that I tried to get his attention, but he didn't look. Instead, I'm going lip spoiler only though, not do luck. Too pricey for me.

 

i dont like that rexpeed do luck add on, its too wide and tall for my taste. If you want a cheap option, RRM has one now- im not sure how good the fit and finish is but here is a link.

The RRM one is priced right... shipping is outrageous though. Almost another 300 to ship it to east coast.

 

kind of amusing but the fiberglass description is the same as the CF one. Still a nice trunk at a good price though

 

Thats my car. I actually prefer the Do Luck trunk rather than just the add on. I dont like the fact that it straight up looks like two pieces rather than one.
