does anyone know if the middle black part on the front bumper has a paint code? or is it the same flat black that the rear diffuser is painted? i'm having a replacement bumper painted and I'm not sure if i just tell them flat black, or that its an actual color black that the middle part is painted, it looks more like its an actual color. can anyone confirm?

 

mr or gsr? cause im pretty sure its a different color

 

GSR sorry i know the MR is that silver color

 

its just black plastic, unpainted...

 

..........my 2010 gsr definitely has paint on the middle section.

if you look at it in the sun and at certain angles , you can even see metal flakes.

it is NOT raw abs plastic.

 

If you bought it used it might be aftermarket? Because my 2011 is just regular matte plastic.

 

bought it brand new one year ago.

still had the white plastic film on it on the lot !

my center bumper AND my hood vents are definitely painted.

in the sun..........it looks VERY MUCH like phantom black paint.

 

Maybe the dealership color matched it? I haven't seen the plastic up front painted, just changed to CF. Especially on a GSR. GSR comes standard with black plastic as hood vents and side vents.

 

see I've noticed this before on some evos thats why the question came up. its like some evos are matted. and some look actually painted.

 

...i was a bit confused too when i first discovered mine was painted and not just plastic

what i do know it was not altered here in the u.s.

it came off the truck at the dealer still "wrapped up" on a saturday......

.............and i drove it home on sunday morning.

 

I have an 2008 and it's definitely painted. It looks like a matte phantom black--when you look up close you can see gold flakes (not sure if it has the red as well like the regular phantom black.)

 

It's not painted. The metallic flake is in the plastic, if you look underneath, on the back side you can slightly make out the flake. It's almost like they polished the front of it.

 

Its painted....

 

This could go on forever... I can see the metel flake you guys are talking about but it is also on the back side of the plastic. I am pretty sure it is just part of the plastic, not painted... Because if it were painted it would be **** paint like every other paint Mitsu uses and would be chipped to crap!
