Custom Interior Trim Showoff (+Poll)
My interior trim pieces were badly ruined before I bought the car, so I decided to remove the carbon fiber pieces and try out some hydrographics.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, it looks slick.
So now onto the big question, should I do the faded center hood scoop to match?

It what they call hydrographics, or hydro dipping, or water transfer printing.
It is a film that is laid into a water tank, chemically activated, and then the part is dipped through the film and into the water. After rinsing and drying, the part is clear coated. No vinyl to peel away or fade out.

STB Coatings in Portland. I kind of regret it just because they took way too long to do it. And I just found out about another, closer guy that does it.
When I got the car, the original owner had glued some carbon fiber overlays onto the seat surrounds, and all of the dash trim. That's why I re-coated all of this. Everything was covered in 3-4 different kinds of glue. What you're seeing on the seat is one kind of glue. There are a couple spots where they got some on the door panel too. Sucks, but its a 50K mile used car, so oh well.
Does this stuff fade over time, or yellow?
