Why Rally Armor flaps are exceptional, and how they saved my paint!

A few weeks ago, they were doing construction in my area and diverted traffic out of the lane. What they didn't tell us was that they diverted us right over fresh road line paint.

Unfortunately, it was on the passenger side, and I didn't notice until a few days later when I washed my car. I was furious, but by that point, the paint had long dried, and there was nothing I could do.

It was all over my right side tires and just completely trashed my mud flaps. The beauty of it, though? NOT ONE SPECK of road paint on the car paint! The Rally Armor flaps protected my paint job completely.

I called Rally Armor to order another set, and it turns out that they will sell replacement flaps if you have one damaged. You just have to prove purchase. Lots of Evom vendors sell these, but I had bought mine from Rally Armor directly back in 2009, the same week I bought the car.

Since mine were older, I went ahead and replaced all four. I got great customer service; worked with a really nice and knowledgable lady named Emm.

What you get when you order a new set of flaps from Rally Armor: Four flaps, all mounting hardware, instructions, a keychain, and decal.

Old and new passenger front flaps. Note the paint damage on the flap.

Passenger front of car. Notice the car's paint was totally protected by the flap!

Old and new passenger rear flaps.

Passenger rear of car. No paint damage at all!

You can still see some dried paint in the grooves of the tire. I hate these tires, and hope they wear soon anyway, so I can exile them to the abyss.

Thanks for reading! I hope you can see that these not only save your paint from rock chips and road debris, but other nasty surprises like wet road paint. Great product for Evo owners.

same here, after 2.5 years i only have 1-2 chips on my rear doors but i think that was from construction on the freeways around here and cars in front shooting into me as opposed to the front tires shooting back. i don't like the looks but they protect the car from chips

Glad to hear your car is fine. I have a set of OEM mudflaps that I need to install. I wonder if they'll work as good as the rally armor ones.
