Euro roof rack mounting point in USDM?

Hi,

as we know, euro evo seem to have OEM mounting for a roof rack (credit to bajk):

Did anyone tried to source the part and see if it fits our USDM model? Any part numbers?

thanx

Mart

That is the EXACT same mount and cover that the USDM Lancer Ralliart Sportbacks have. So you might success looking up Sportback part #'s.

Below are some photos I took, before I sold the car.

The one problem I ran into, if you are a snowboarder, the mounts are placed too close together to fit a snowboard with the bindings in the middle, you have to place it forward or back, which is kind of a bummer.

Did anyone ever make any progress on this? I'd like to get back into biking next summer so this winter I'd love to figure this out and get a rack purchased and ready.

What is supporting the weight underweight the mount? Is it just supported by the edge/contour of the roof?

Also what is the thread of that nut in the bracket?

Thanks, if I get this figured out I'll do a write up. I have a couple of friends that work in a machine shop so I may be able to get the brackets made. I just have to figure out where and how to mount them.
