New steering wheel options!

Been wanting to do something different to my steering wheel for the longest time, and finally got my answer.

To summarize, my old steering wheel is from a 2008 Evo X, and as some of us already know, the leather was just terrible. Tried repairing it but it kept tearing.

So I went to eBay of all places, and found this seller: dallascustomsw

The guy specializes in customizing OEM steering wheels, so I gave the guy a shot. He does core exchange service too, so you can deposit for the core and then get refunded later, which is great.

I opted for solid + perforated leather + thumb rests + red stitches + padding (for a thicker wheel and softer grip), and the results were nothing short of excellent. The craftsmanship is absolutely gorgeous.

Post-install:

You can customize your steering wheel any way you like too, making it truly unique. I've personally been waiting for something like this since the OEM wheel started disintegrating, hopefully this will open options for others as well.

it was like...$450 something + $200 refundable core deposit

if you don't opt for the color stitching and go with just solid black or go with other materials, it gets as cheap as $250, definitely good prices i think.

Kinda pricey plus if you have to pay someone to install it as well.

or you can see you can't get thumb rests, or if you can't sew you're SOL.

it's not even an apple/apple comparison. of course it's expensive compared to DIY, but at least it's done right.

looks great, i'd love to have one of those as the leather sucks on our steering wheels.
