BMW interlagos blue is a little darker and has hints of purp, in comparison to estoril blue

OP,

First you need to go to DuPont Refinish and search for the exact paint formula that you want the body shop to use. Go to this website:

http://www.dupontrefinish.eu/portal/

click "Colour Retrieval", then "I agree", then type the color you propose. For example, if I type "midnight blue", and click "ASTON MARTIN AST1341D", it will give me the formula of this paint:

http://cdb.dupontrefinish.info/en/Fo...eType=official

To give you an idea, this is how a stock midnight blue Aston looks:

As you can see here, the paint has many quality levels; L400 being the worst, 600 and 6000 slightly better but still ghetto, Cromax looks like stock but not as long lasting, and Cromax Pro being the best.

It is important to find the best body shop in your area, clearly tell them to order that highest quality paint formula you can find on DuPont Refinish, and tell them to do it exact as it should. If it's 2 coats, then do 2 coats. It will cost $6,000 (basic exterior but good paint quality) to $12,000 (closest to stock quality), depending on how nicely you want it done.

As many have expressed, get a $1,500 one or $2,000 one and you will regret ever repainting your car.

It will give the car a nice rustic look, I believe the proper term for it is patina

The thing is that I doubt if a $1,000 paint job would even age gracefully into something like patina:

The blue you seem to like looks very similar to the Cosmic blue option on the 2013 Evo X. I would into something wild. This way, the custom paint will be more appreciated.

You are welcome. arghabu bezeyarat al dubai, lol..

There are, in fact, many great exterior colors to consider. A classy paint is more than its hue and saturation, but the shade, specular reflection, diffused reflection, etc. A paint with silvery metallic reflection, for example, gives an impression of wealth.

Usually you find the best exterior paints from the cars that the company uses for the debut of their halo car, to compete for a role in a movie, or as the "signature paint" of their entire line:

McLaren Sapphire Black

Aston Martin Skyfall Silver (unlike its name implies, it actually never appears on any Bond movies. But the color is beautiful, no doubt.)

Aston Martin Bridgewater Bronze

Nissan Deep Blue Pearl

Ferrari Grigio Titanio Metallizzato

Ferrari Azzurro California

The best way to understand a paint, of course, is to look at many pictures of the cars under different lighting conditions. Some paints pick up the colors of the environment, others don't.
