My '13 CB Evo X Journal
My '13 CB Evo X Journal
Hey Guys!
I've always had a "Build Thread/Journal" on all my past cars. I'm surprised I haven't started one with my Evo X yet. Anywho, It's been a little over a year since I traded in my 2012 Ralliart for my 2013 Evo X…
Here's the journey (que music):
[PAGE 1- Intro: COBB Stage 3 + H&R Springs and Spacers + New Wheels and Tires]
On March 13, 2013 I traded in my Octane Blue Ralliart.

That same week I made an appointment that coming Summer to do a Stage 3 setup at Cobb Tuning.
I was absolutely obsessed with Evo's… I've actually always been obsessed with cars in general. But when I was 10 years old I watched a movie called, "Thunderbolt" starring Jackie Chan back in 1995. In the movie he drove an Evo III. I remember thinking, "I want that car!"
Here's the trailer for those of you who've never heard of it, lol
Anywho, after I bought the car I couldn't stop cleaning it and taking pics of it…

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the same time I also couldn't stand a stock height car. So a few weeks later I purchased H&R springs and 25mm H&R spacers.

Right after I purchased the car I scheduled an appointment with Cobb Tuning to do the full Stage 3 setup… That Summer couldn’t have taken longer to come. But the day finally came and the car went under a little surgery.
Install included:
Cobb Turbo back exhaust
3-port EBCS
Cobb SF Intake
Cobb AccessPort
Protune
Etc…
Installs took about 3 hours...

Then everyone had lunch, but they even invited me and my friends to the back to have burgers with them and stuff
Then around 1ish they started the tune...

My final numbers on the screen were 340hp with 364 lbs of torque at 26psi. He uploaded a high and low boost tune onto my Accessport.
Overall the experience was awesome. Everyone was super friendly and nice with lots of knowledge and I even got a free lunch :P
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few months later I bought a JUN replica front lip.

And that's pretty much how the car has been since then… I've been happy with everything about her… I loved the way she drove, handled, looked, and the power…
Now it's been a year since I picked up the car and to celebrate I got a set of Miro 398's (18x9.5 +20) with Dunlop Direzza DZ101's 265/35/18

I've had authentic wheels in the passed. I had TE37SL's on my Nismo 350Z, I had Volk CE28n's on my RSX… But the Miro's are nice and they're a little lighter than the Varrstoen ES2's so we'll see.
I'll continue updating this "Journal" as I make changes to the car. I'll slap on these wheels and post pics this weekend
Hope you enjoyed the read!

Very tastefully done man! Are the springs the only suspension setup change you made? How is the ride quality with the new springs and did you change any if the alignment settings? Also are your wheels rubbing at all and which fenders did you have to roll if any?

The fitment on my replica is super snug. I had to remove the front bumper and force the lip on.
Thanks! The mud flaps are so messed up… They scrape on everything… and they're all bent from running of debris and the debris hitting the metal… If I take an up-close shot you can see how dinged up and scraped they are

You can kinda see it on the right mudflap. The right side is more messed up since I angle out that way out of my driveway
Believe it or not that's with the spacers still in! +20 with 25mm spacers… So that makes it like -5? idk haha. I thought they'd stick out like crazy but it came out really clean
