So I'm about to pull the trigger on a carbon fiber duck bill trunk. I was wondering how does the fast key work? Is there even a button on the cf trunk that can somehow sync with the fast key or can you even open the trunk with the button on the fast key? Just want to know before i purchase it.

The only duckbill trunks I've seen (VIS racing, Do-Luck, and various reps) in both FRP or CF do not come with FAST key hole.

Yet it is always possible to just drill it out yourself

 

Like with most trunks, you need to swap over the original parts. Between the key hole and lock, along with the FAST system. But like what most said, you may have to drill out the hole.

 

This correct, had a DL trunk with keyhole pre-cut, just need to swap the key over from the OG trunk. Or you can buy a new one and have it stay in place.

 

anyone know the best place to get one for the best quality? the vis is kind of expensive so probably a rep. If i have to i will get the vis but thats if there is no other options.

I have the Do-Luck duckbill trunk. You can get it predrilled with the fastkey hole, or do it yourself I suppose too.

There's really no reason to have a little button on your trunk though. Just push the trunk button on your keys, or the manual release in the car. That's what most people including me do. It looks a lot smoother and I have not once wished I had a little thing on my trunk to push.

when you swap it over, the Fastkey still works, it just doesn't have the little button unless you drill it. If you don't, it will still work with the keyfob as usual.
