Evo X detailed professionally

Hey everyone,

Im in the chicago area and picked up a 2014 Evo. I have been detailing for quite some time and i thought id share my recent detail on my Evo x. I did a full 2 step paint correction on the car and I also coated it. The coating I applied is a scratch resistance coating that has properties that make it more durable than any factory clear coat. it is resistant to marring, swirls, and much more.

I began with washing and claying the car,

I had asked the dealer not to wash my car, but they still did

it looked like this

after some correction, it looked like this

what was taped up

all the tape I had used{thumb up}

i then proceeded to cleaning the wheels, i used a specific wheel cleaner that is safe for the wheels and breaks down iron deposits and brake dust

now the real judge, here are some sun shots

i then coated the car, i do not recommend doing this yourself unless you have detailing experience, if done incorrectly, you will end up with blemishes and smears in the paint

beautiful flake present in the paint

if you need any advice or tips, PM me

Looks great!

What polisher did you use and paint correction products did you use?

I'm building up a list of products so I can do this as well in the spring

Probably going to pickup the Porter Cable polisher. That or the Griots.

^^ I think Opti-Gloss, as you can't find Opti-Coat unless you are a professional detailer.
my .02 I used Opti-Coat when you could buy it and it lasted about 2 years going through 2 Colorado winters

I used opti gloss,

opti gloss is the new version of opti coat, it allows the owner of the vehicle to still apply waxes if desired, its also more scratch resistant than opti coat 2.0

I wish they still had regular Opti-Coat for consumers. (20cc vs 10cc)

They stopped selling Opti-coat to the public a while ago. Now you have to be a certified installer to do it and if you want to do a good coating you should do Modesta it's a 3-10 year coating. The only thing with Modesta is it's some what expensive but worth it also you have to wash it with special shampoo.
