trick question....WITH wheel spoke/ Brake caliper clearance I think a 9.5"+35 with a 265 tire will fit everything and no bodywork needed for the widest track same size wheel tire a +10 front and +25 rear will max it out

Do you see clearance for a 18x10 or even a 19x10 (for a street setup) +25 or even +20? Considering the car will be lowered with coilovers and the owner is willing to run a significant amout of camber.

Thanks in advance.

on the red X the front is 2.3 and the rear is 1.5 with MEGA clearance....I'll be fitting a 10.5 with 285/30/18 tires kuhmos (and will try 305's too)

The rear is the problem I had some le 37's @ +22 and they just looked a bit too wide when mounted up....but a +30 would have worked fine it looked like won't know for sure till I get each wheel and do the test fit though

Thanks for the info. On the rear +22, what size and width wheel are you referring to?

Interesting question...what's a better upgrade, suspension or engine?

I'll give two examples for those inclined to get the best track performance:

1. A Porsche 911 cup car and a Porsche Carrera GT have about the same power to weight ratio, yet the cup car is about 9 sec. per lap quicker on the average track.

2. My Evo, with Robispec suspension , holds the TT track record at thunderhill and has won 4 season championships...with a bone stock engine and the boost turned DOWN!

I went with handling over power from the beginning and I have not regretted that decision.

Original engine, but I've had to maintain it very carfully to keep it together. First it needs a new head gasket every 50 hrs of runtime, even with ARP studs. I keep an eye on it and don't let it actually blow so I've never had to surface the block and only had to surface the head once a tiny little bit. As soon as you smell coolant in the exhaust, its time to change the head gasket.

I change the timing belt, balancer belt, and accessory belt every 50 hrs. I change the plugs every 25 hours or so. After about 100 hrs. the balancer bearings may be starting to get a little long, so we'll be doing a balance shaft eliminator soon.

After about 120 hrs total track time the rings, bores, and mains are still good to go. Taking the engine out and apart every 50 hrs may seem expensive, but in the long run it always saves money and gets maximum life out of all of the parts.
