Alignment after Coilover install.

Does anyone have the factory alignment specs? A buddy of mine just installed his BC coils on his X and is trying to get an alignment done, but the shops don't have the factory specs.

I was curious to know what other X owners with coilovers are setting their alignment specs to.

Thanks!

The specs are not out yet-I set mine at 0 toe, -0.4 front camber (appox 4.4-4.6 caster) and -1.4 rear camber.
Took a while to get it in....but it drives great!
You shouldn't need fac specs for the software-if you tell them what you want (or have him go back to stock, get a read, then install the BC's).....good luck!

Yikes, -.4 up front is weak.....for even lightly spirited driving you want more then that. Get the most out of your car!

I'm curious on this as well. I am installing coil overs on mine tomorrow. Anyone else with coil overs installed that have gotten an alignment done yet?

this is my problem too. The alignment is depend on so many things , i dont even want to be involved . Like tire choice, car weight, coilovers , spring rate , the track where you go etc. So i think the best is to leave it for the pro's.
So i think you best bet is Robispec.
Sadly he is not around here so i have to go somewhere else.

i'm sure, but the custom alignment is always better. Like the mail in ECU flash versus on the dyno ecu flash.

i think anyway, but i can be wrong. I'm a dummy when it comes to alignment.
SO i'm sure some guy's know they alignment numbers.

If whoever you buy a coilover from can not recommend you an alignment spec, you should not be buying coilovers from them. Period.

That said, some people (like Robi) will have a better recommendation then others, and that's why people go to him and why they have good results.

ill throw my generic alignment specs out...

1/32nd to 1/16th toe out in the front...
0 toe in the rear, max camber front... and rear...

it honestly works for 80 % of our clients, the rest we work with to find a custom spec for.

I was impressed when my alignment shop came back with the results this weekend:
-1 camber on the front and -1.2 on the rear, with all stock parts...

if you ask for a print out of your alignment specs can the machine lie? In other words can the operator of a hunter alignment machine go in and enter some numbers and print them out and give to me just so i will shut up.?

a good operator can move the mirrors or whatever is attached to the wheels and show almost anything on the printout.
