Be careful what you say. A 265/35/18 is smaller in diameter than a 245/40/18, so you can get away with more spacer and not have the tire hit the fender liner. I've found that 245/40/18 R-S3s with a 15mm spacer puts the tire within a hair of the fender liner when I'm near full lock. I doubt I could run a 20mm spacer with 245 R-S3s on stock wheels, especially not with RallyArmor flaps. Thus, my simple suggestion to people who want more track with stock wheels and tires (e.g., those running in STU on a budget) is 15mm spacers.

I only ran a 3 mm spacer, anything more you should go to longer studs for safety. They might feel fine, but they aren't catching enough threads to hang on during heavy side loading (turning).
Per Gorilla:
NOTICE: You can install the 3mm spacers onto your car with factory wheel studs, but its recommended for safety you install longer wheel studs. 5mm and 8mm wheel studs CANNOT BE USED with factory wheel studs as there is not enough thread to safely use these. Youll HAVE TO purchase longer wheel studs to use with these yourself.

Hey guys bringing this back up. Anyone running 5mm spacers without longer studs? I was going to buy some but I just saw this thread and now I'm second guessing.

There once was a guy who was thinking of playing Russian Roulette for big money. He posted a question on the interwebs asking if this was a good idea. A bunch of people replied, all saying that it was a great idea - easy money, dude - so he did it.

As he lay there dying of a bullet to the brain, it somehow finally soaked in (as it were) that the people who would have known that it wasn't a good idea would be in no condition to reply to his interwebs survey. And, a moment later, neither was he.

Not sure why I just remembered this now.... As to the question of spacers with stock lugs, I wouldn't.

You can do this with the MR BBSs no problem since the mag style lug allows for more thread engagement compared to the typical taper lug. You get 9 turns IIRC.

I had 20mm H&R trk+ spacers on my 2012 Evo X MR on stock BBS wheels/tires with swift springs. They looked perfectly flush. Front would rub on the inner fender liner only when turned completely to the right but not to the left. But this could be because of the winter tires I'm running and the tread depth is deeper. They had no vibrations at high speed. Its currently for sale. In case you are interested, PM me.

I have 25mm and would definitely recommend them. I'm lowered to about a 1 finger gap and have rolled my rears, still on 245/40/18 for my winters. I think 25mm is perfect.
I only have 1 picture, not the best but here it is

When I checked out the H&R spacers the only size I saw listed were 15mm..
Regardless, I'm still thinking about purchasing them.
