coilover question

My X is pretty much my daily driver. Not to mention a family car as well. My 15month daughter sits in the back in her car seat next to my wife. So the question is, would the ride from coilovers be too stiff? Coilovers like the KWs.. Thanks..

There are a few "soft" or "street" sets of coilovers out there, but 90% of them are considerably stiffer and you can definitely feel the difference in the back seat!

How often will your wife and kids be in the car and what's your purpose with the car?

If you spend more than the entry level price for coilovers, the ride quality can be as good as stock.

Judging by your garage, you can afford the finer things in life. Give the Vorshlag guys a call and ask them about the AST setup they are working on. Apparently it rides VERY well when in soft mode.

My japanese almost entry level coilovers are very stiff, and if they are on full soft, I don't get complaints from anyone (wife or 3 year old).

AST is likely your best bet at the moment.

I'd also think about just getting a set of Cobb swaybars for now. They will reduce body roll and not affect ride quality.

You can look at the HKS Hipermax 3 coilovers (not sport). There's many reviews on them for a comfortable quality. Spring rates are conservative at 7K front/5K rear.

KW V3s would be nice when tuned for comfort.
