I like the Falken Azenis RT-615 for the summer. I ran these the last 2 summers on my WRX, plan on using them this year on my EVO, and had zero issues.

I personally love Falken FK452's. Great summer tire.
But I also strongly agree with xtmx, you can never go wrong with Azenis!

I just got my Nitto NT-05s installed today. It was kind of cold all day, <40 degrees, and I didn't test the handling much, but they definitely feel great and the sidewalls are nice and stiff.

That probably doesn't help too much, but they seem promising and I can't wait for the temperature to warm up so I can really test them out. Check out Blacktrack's review of them, it's what made me decide to get them over the Falken RT-615s.

popular choices for all us awd-t guys seem to be falken azenis, bridgestone re01r (also check out the new re11, i hear they are beastly), dunlop direzza's. also i've seen a few guys with the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2's... cant imagine any of these being a bad choice. i personally would go for the azenis rt-615's cuz i've ridden in my friends sti before and after he got those tires and it was a nice improvement, and the tread pattern looks pretty aggressive. the dunlop direzzas have been getting a lot of good reviews lately so maybe even those.

Read this, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...lass-tire.html and then decide.

I'd be curious how the NT05's perform in the wet....based on the tirerack ratings/tesing, wet grip on the Star Specs is described as excellent.

As a street tire (and back up "rain tire" for track work) wet performance is factor that seems to be overlooked in alot of reviews....

Yes, very true; see my earlier comments about Neovo vs NT 05 here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...es-pics-2.html

The Nitto's Nt-05's look gr8 but the thing is that i dont really c myself doin any real hardcore tracking in my X, although i really want to!, my X is really my weekend street warrior, and eventually whne i start doin my engine mods(hopefully real soon!) ill only be goin to the track to do some 1/4miles but autocrossing does look fun!with that said those falkens looks like a real go!

I have the Star Specs and they seem to handle at least equal, if not better, than the grippy Yoko A13s that came stock when I got my X. Wet handling is excellent, and I've had no complaints here at all. I lapped Mid Ohio after a rain while the track was still wet and they never gave me a reason to lose confidence in them.

That said, they seem a little squealy. I had hoped it would go away, but it never seemed to. It's not a big deal, but I'd prefer they just scrub off speed when slipping instead of squealing while they do it.

The NT-05s look great also, and we've been hearing good things. I may try those next.

I've had the Nitto NT-05's for about 3 weeks now and they are great. Got a track day and some autocrosses coming up and I can't wait.
