I wash my brakes with just water, and it usually lasts over a month without squeaking if I don't do any track events. I don't usually go more than a month without washing my car so I couldn't tell you how long the squeaks go away for.

In the end, if this product doesn't help with the squeal, you'll have a nice shiny rim to show for.

I regularly clean my wheels and my brakes never squeal. i've always wondered why other people's brakes squeal. it's most likely because of excessive brake dust that gets cleaned.

anyone else besides the op who had squeaky brakes try this with any success?

Is this stuff ok to use on Volks?

My brakes have been so noisy since it's gotten cold. I don't mind it.

Same problem here, especially after they get wet. But any kind of wheel or rotor cleaner seems to work, at least for a while.

if your volks are alum/mag buy something that is safe for those wheels, otherwise any wheel cleaner should help.

honestly i'm not a big fan of cleaning wheels when it's freezeing out so mine will prolly start to squeak lol.

When running the stock pads last year in the winter I started to get noisy brakes.

Since then I've switched to Girodisc Magic Pads and even with the cold weather they have been silent. For installation I used "Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lube" (Hi-Temp 550 F Silicone Formula) and for the street this stuff works great and holds up well. It does tend to burn up when used on my track pads but amazingly it keeps them reasonably quiet as well.
