Just wondering the difference between these 2 tires. Got quotes from a few places and one gave me the WS60 and the other gave me the LM60. The place that also gave me the quote for the LM60 also quoted me on LM25 which are 225s but I don't want those. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I know it's only just December, but hopefully someone has some experience with them from last Winter.

 

The LM60's are a performance winter tire. Meaning that they can handle snow, and also be good when being driven on dry pavement. The WS60's on the other hand are more of just a snow tire. They will have really good traction on the snow, but won't handle as good on dry pavement. So it depends on how crazy your snow falls are. I got the LM60's in a 225 and I live up in Canada. Had a few snow falls so far and seems to be handling just fine. Except for this one snowfall last friday when the snow turned into ice almost immediately on the roads. At that point I think any winter tire would have been about the same.

And for the LM25's, I think they are the older model of the LM60's. I dunno what kind of changes they made on the LM60's, but I would think it's to make them them better than the LM25's, haha!

 

the LM-60 is a replacement for the WS-60. They are still selling the LM-25 which replaced the LM-22 awhile back.

Oh is that how it is? Whoops, got my facts wrong then.

 

The WS60's replaced the WS50's. A strait studless snow/ice tire. The LM-60's replaced the LM-25's Though LM-25's are still available till the invintory gone.

I run WS60's on my galant VR4 and it is unstoppable in the snow and great traction on the ice though the dry handling is alittle mushy.
I just put LM60's on my girl's TC so I haven't had a chance to try them in the snow yet. But I will tell you, the dry handling is waaay better then my WS60's and I'm expecting they'll handle just as good if not better in the snow as the old LM22's which I've also used. I'd go with the LM60's for an evo.

 

Thanks for the info guys. Called to get the LM-60s and they're BACKORDERED!! I'll have to wait a week, but I'm going to call around to a few places to see if they could get those as well, maybe cheaper.

 

I just got the 235/40R-18 WS60. Haven't had snow yet, but they seem to be fine on dry pavement. They are a little bit less expensive too.
