Good DD tires?
Good DD tires?
since i drive my car daily. i am looking for a decent wet/dry gripping tire that wont be gone in 10k miles. ive been looking and really dont know what to get. my price limit is max of 200$ per tire. just looking for some advice on here to help my selection.
the Falken ziex ze-912 are really good dd tires.. last long plus their are grippier than some all season tires you will see around.. i would recommend those (but then again i dont know how aggressive you drive hahaha)
The RE960 AS were a great touring tire. Reasonably grippy, quiet, good in the rain, etc etc... that said I will probably never buy them again. I'll be sticking with 1 extreme performance summer setup and one winter tire setup.
I just got a set of Nitto NT555 tires on my X, and so far I'm enjoying them. Got a little over a hundred miles on them so far, and I like them They have a 300 tire wear rating which is near double the stock advans. Should see 30k miles out of them, which is perfect. They are also a lot quieter than the stock tires, and have a slightly softer ride.

Sumitomo HTRZ III.
I've been using these for the past 4 mos. Great in rain, much, much quieter than stockers. Haven't tracked them so can't say anything about ultimate grip but for DD use they have been fine. No more tramlining and a very good on center feel with a quick initial response. We'll see about treadwear.
I was a little wary because of the very low price and the crappy reviews of the Sumi HTRZ II's but this linked review and TireRack's personal recommendation,
persuaded me to try them out.
