Continental ExtremeContact DW (Not DWS) or Hankook Ventus V12 evo

I need some Summer tires very soon. Right now I am using winter tires.
I don't track the car, but do some sprinted driving.
I also don't want something that wears out very quickly.

I was looking at the Continental ExtremeContact DW or Hankook Ventus V12 evo.

This is the Continental ExtremeContact DW. I am worried about the 340 treadwear and maybe the soft sidewall?
Any opinions on this tire?

But I may decide on the Hankook Ventus V12 evo because of the great reviews I read.

Any other opinions or some other choice of summer tires?
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec (Nice tires, but would like a little longer treadwear)

If its a choice between the Conti and the the Hankook, I would take the Hankook over the Conti - don't get me wrong, Conti does make good tires, but every time I have driven with Conti's, I have had a desire to change tires immediately due to dissatisfaction in performance. If it is a choice between the Hankook and the Dunlop, and the wear rating was not an issue, I would take the Dunlop. If you are concerned about wear, take the Hankook. If you throw in the new Falken RT-615K and the Dunlop Star Specs, it would be a toss up for me - either way, you would be making a good move in purchase.

my stock tires are shot! going to be ordering tires very very soon in the next couple days. the hankooks are a tire im considering so im gonna post this in here instead of making a new thread.

so far my list looks like this:

Hankook Ventus V12: $724/set shipped from DiscountTireDirect.com

Falken Azenis RT-615: $836/set (minus $80 rebate) $756/set shipped DiscountTireDirect.com

Dunlop Star Specs: $944/set (minus $50 rebate) $894/set plus $44 shipping from TireRack.com

Hankook Ventus V12: $724/set shipped
Falken Azenis RT-615: $756/set shipped
Dunlop Star Specs: $938/shipped

are the star specs worth the extra $200 over the other 2?? out of the falken or hankooks which are a better tire? also how are these tires in the rain? thanks!

Not the same exact tire, but heres a quote from import tuner from Ryan Gates on the contisport contact 3's.
"The Contis surprised me> Their grip was impressive, given their high tread life, and their stiff sidewalls gave them a crisp overall feel-much better than anticipated"

So I don't think you need to worry about a soft sidewall....

Hankook Ventus V12 is $171 per tire at tirerack. And I usually read ppl use bridgestone potenza and Yoko Advan, and you didn't take those into consideration because??
