Opinion on these Hankooks

Hi Guys
Tis' time to slap on the summers, but I need to get new tires.
I am trying to find something that is the right bang for the buck and I need some opinions and suggestions.

I am considering the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo (K110)
Ben from tire23 (local shop in Mississauga) recommended I look at the Continental Extreme contact DW

The continentals are about 100$ cheaper.

Have anyone used any of these tires? or perhaps might recommend something else?
Keep in mind "bang for buck"

Thanks

no personal experience with either of them but most reviews say both are departure in performance compared to the stock advans due to softer sidewalls. as long as you are okay with that, either should offer a somewhat nicer ride for daily driving.

i would go with the continental in stock size out of those two options, especially if it's saving some money.

Had them for a bout 20 mins, took them back to the tire shop and got NT05's. The V12s have a really soft side wall.

those are very different tires. what were you looking for when you bought the v12s?

For the V12 evo I was quoted $1020 balanced and installed with tax.

The Continental Extreme was quoted 930 balanced and installed with tax, plus it comes with a mail in rebate for 60$

All prices are Canadian dollars.

So my handling wont be that great cause of the soft sidewalls but for daily driving it should be fine....mind you sometimes I do rip it around the corners when i take the back roads.

Any other suggestions on other tires??

it's fine as a daily. id still take the DW over the v12.

check price on the michelin pilot super sports while you are at it.

couple of guys seem to recommend the Sumitomo HTR Z III as a lower cost alternative.

Sounded about the right price in Toronto area. Yes, V12 has soft sidewall. I ordered a set through DTD but back ordered and changed to RE760S which about the same level.

For dd, you should be happy with V12. I've no idea how the Continental Extreme is.

Both the super sport and the Bridgestone are fantastic tires. They are options but I was looking at some less expensive tires first.
See all options.

which bridgestones? they have so many models and i never see much feedback about them.

S04 pole position - daily summer (probably comparable to the v12 and DW)
RE760 sport - more performance oriented summer (i'm guessing comparable to the pss)
RE-11 (or new RE-11A) - performance tire (comparable to the likes of the starspec, rs-3, advan ad-08)

order your tires from discount tire direct they have 50$ off till tomorrow. About 800$ to your door for the ventus v12's and then get them installed somewhere. End up saving 150$ or so
