Simple-- kw v3 or JIC street? DD and some "spirited canyon carving"... one thing is curious though, JIC= 90 day warrany, kw= lifetime warrany... any input would be welcome...
My dad has out of the box JIC's on his X, they suck on his car, he loves them tho. I would recommend the KW's even tho ive never driven or ridden on them... unless u go with muellerized JIC's, those will rock ur socks off
i'm a coilover newbie, after weeks of research i'm planning on order a set of HKS Hipermax 3 street version next week. reasons for getting the HKS: ease of installation, rubber upper mounts that you'd be appreciated if you DD you Evo a lot. price wise is pretty decent. you can get a set for $1700.
price is about the same... they are listed for 2k on the site. And remember, John has u fill out a tech form so the coilovers will be built specifically for wat u want to do with the car...

The most important things when it comes to getting coilovers is the quality of the valving. It's impossible to tell from the outside and shock dyno plots are rare and difficult to understand anyway. But ask the vendor if he can explain the damping characteristics to you in one way or another. Some vendors will probably have no idea what you're talking about, and you'll probably be able to tell. Which brings us to the next most important thing....after sale support. Get your suspension stuff from a suspension vendor, someone who can help you work through problems and set the system up and that's easy to reach by phone or email. There are a few good shops on and off the forum that are really good at this.
