I had the 265s mounted this morning on the wheels and it looks great. You do def rub on full lock, but it's not as bad as it seems when measuring clearance. I just overreacted a bit when they were telling me the tires didn't fit.

Also, do I need to get an alignment done immediately? I was going to put it off until next week, but as I have a 120mi commute I am not sure if I should wait that long.

You should deff get an alignment as soon as possible because the factory setting are usually off and have toe (eats up tire).. But you wont see a difference if you leave it off for a couple days..

wow 120miles!! I hope thats a week and not daily..

The problem isin't rubbing on the top of the fender, it's that even on stock suspension it rubs a little on the front part of the fender liner when you lock your steering wheel to one side running 265s. After running the new tires today it does not really seem to be an issue - not like you regularly lock your steering wheel to one side during normal driving.

I've heard some tires run wider than others, but I am personally not sure on NT05s, or on my Hankooks since I really don't have anything else to compare against.

that's daily - I live in the middle of nowhere. In any case, the car had a four wheel alignment done at 29k, but on the stock wheels afaik. Not sure if that makes a difference.

has anybody run this setup on the track? Does it rub under track conditions? Stock height vs. lowered?

You don't need an alignment if all you changed was wheels. But if it's time for another alignment, get one anyway

I bet the rubbing on stock suspension can vary based on how hard you drive, road surface, camber, and tire width. Some 265's are wider than others (e.g. star specs run really wide). I'm also running -2 deg front camber on hankooks and they rub. I can consistently get it to rub on some right hand turns going about 35 mph.

If it rubs on the street, then it will most likely rub on the track, where you will turn a LOT harder I don't have rotas but it sounds like it's hit or miss depending on the car, road, and tire model.

I find that hard to believe cause I run 275/35 and dont rub at all at 35mph.

Like I said, it probably depends on road surface too (bumps mid-corner etc). I'm talking about a 90 degree right hand turn at a street intersection (4 lane street) taken pretty hard (near the limit) when it rubs. Heard it the past two days in a row on my commute home on that same corner. I guess I should mention that I was also trail braking a little bit into that turn if it matters. Rubbing was coming from the front left and is not continuous through the turn - more like a couple of quick rubs.

I figured as much. Let me rephrase: Will this combination definitely rub under track conditions? I'm concerned that all the claims of 'no rub' are under street conditions. I track my car and don't want to deal with rub on the track.

As far as the mudflaps go, theres nothing you can do without changing tire sizes. However I run/ran 275/30/19 and 265/35/19 and they both rubbed on the fender liner in the front as well.

This past weekend I used a heat gun on the fender liner and re-shaped it slightly and now no more rubbing.
