Help with Tire Size on Rota Grids

I got a set of 18x9.5 +22 from Wheeldude, and 265 35 18 Hankook Ventus Evo V12 tires, but they rub on the front and back of the wheel-well on a turn! I am stock height, but the back of the tire is rubbing on my RallyArmor Mudflaps, and the front of the tire rubs against the fender liner.

Can I run 255 35 18 on the Grids, or will they not fit? Help

I went ahead and just ordered Hankook Evos in 255/35/18. I am not sure how people fit 265 35s without rubbing.

265 to 255, is there much difference between the two? e.g. diameter, sidewall, circumference?

I have 275/35 with the following specs:

Front camber: -2.5
Rear camber: -1.13
Toe: 0 all around
Springs: Eibach Prokit
Wheels: 18x9.5 +15
Tires: Falken 452

Rear fenders rolled, no rubbing.

The front rubs the fender liner a bit on lock-to-lock. But, I learned not to do lock-to-lock. Of course, this doesnt help with the EVO X's truck turning radius

.3" (1.2%) smaller diameter. I am not sure if it's a meaningful difference, but I was worried that it was gonna rub on my mudflaps on a turn. Can someone input on the size differences below?

265/35-18 Hankook
Measure Rim Width.... 9.50
Section Width........ 10.7
Tread Width.......... 9.1"
Overall Diameter..... 25.3"

255/35-18 Hankook
Measure Rim Width.... 9.00
Section Width........ 10.2
Tread Width.......... 8.7"
Overall Diameter..... 25.0"

Are you like 600 pounds or something?

I'm on Grids, 18x9.5, +20, Hankook 265/35/18s, Swift springs, and have zero rub.

I wasn't even sitting in the car? In any case, on a full turn it rubbed front fender liner and on the RA mudflaps. As far as height goes, it's fine.

you should of just heated up the front fenderliner and pushed it back.. I chopped the groves and the rubbing and it stopped rubbing..

Yes I have been thinking it over most of the day, and I am having second thoughts on ordering a smaller set of tires. 265->255 does not seem to have much of a difference.

I might go back and just tell them to mount the tires and see how it goes. My only worry was that I would end up ripping up my mudflap or something horrible because it rubbed on a turn.

how is that possible I have mudlfaps also and running 275/35/18 and dont rub. I have swift springs and only rub if someone is in the back. Full wheel lock you will rub but its not to the point you will rub or rip the plastic off. You will be stretching that 255 and they will look low profile.

Here is what your car will look like with 255's, this is my car stock height.

I think it depends on how hard you corner I have stock suspension running 265/35/18 on 18x9.5 +25, and it will run in hard corners during autocross and the track. I hear the rubbing, but it's not so bad that it actually causes noticeable damage. It probably depends on bumps in the road mid-corner too. It's not always consistent rubbing.

If you do use the 255/35's your speedometer will be off a little.

No rubbing with my new wheels and tires. Exact same set up as you. The only thing I have is the darn un even tire wear.
