Fortune-Auto 500 Coilover Review

I have had these for over 12k miles and still no problems, clunks, noises. I'm running swift springs 8k/9k spring rates. (DD) Street valving, and bearing upgrade. I love the ride with these and constantly get positive comments from passengers about the ride quality. I know that these were worth the wait. Sean at DSG helped me out with my suspension choice and i couldn't have been happier with the coil-overs. Highly recommended for a DD coil-over. IMO.

Could you tell me a little more about the bearing upgrade? I saw that and the extenders as options on the FA site, but didn't really know why there is a bearing for an upgrade. It looks as if it sits on the top or bottom side of the spring itself. Is that for noise reduction for the movement of the spring on the perch/tops?

This is one of those "you don't have to have it, but, if you're dreadfully serious, you should" kinds of things. When I first built my coilovers for my 2G DSM (autocross car), I didn't include them. I also resisted the idea that I needed them because math told me the amount of rotation was minimal (plus I really liked arguing with DG). But as my driving got better and the competitive juices started to flow, I went ahead and added them. And, yes, they made a difference. Not much, but the butt-dyno and stop-watch both said so. Plus, Torringtons will increase the life of the shock, itself.
