Rotors Stuck !!!!!!

I am trying to replace my rotors but they seem to be stuck on because of the rust. Car is an 03 lancer es. Sorry for posting in the evo section but i dont think anyone reads the regular lancer section. Anyway, I wanted to know if there are 2 little screws holding the rotor on or are they supposed to just slide off once i take the calipers off.
Thanks for the help

Take a rubber mallet to it. But check and see if there are screw holding in place with some sand paper.

the 2 holes were full of rust so i used a dremel to clean it our and i dont see anything resembling a screw. Forget a rubber mallet. i was beating the hell out of it with a regular hammer and nothing was moving at all.........can anyone verify that there ARE or ARENT screws holding in on based on experience.
thanks

Those two holes are empty, but they exist so you can free the rotor. Clean them out (BUT DONT DAMAGE THEM). Figure out what size screw goes in there, and get a couple of them. Tighten the screws down. As you do that, the back of the screw will push against the hub face and will free the rotor. Easy as pie

WAIT!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the drama, but if these are the rear rotors, please make sure your hand brake is off....

Here's a writeup I did when I did mine.

BFH is the only answer. cover your lug nuts with the lug nuts and beat the hell out of them with a small sledge.

once you get it off clean up the rust and use some axle grease on the backside of the rotor top hat so it doesn't happen again.

I had this problem before when replacing the brakes on a co-workers Volvo. I ended up taking a pry bar to the rotors to break them free. If you go this route just be mindful of your bodywork and other components near the rotor.

Same issue on my Evo 8 when I was replacing the rotors.

Those holes are for screws so you can push the rotors out like blk-majik suggested.

The bolt I used just happened to be a bolt that held the raditor in place, up top. Like one of the very common 12 or 10 mm bolt from top the front frame brace. Not sure if your Lancer ES has the exact same but I did happen to find a bolt that worked from inside the engine compartment. (Sorry I can't be more specific, has anyone else been succesful like this and can pinpoint exactly what bolt to use??)

Hopefully you didn't mess up the threads when you dremeled out the rust . . . .

you don't need a write up for removing a brake rotor, this is freshman year auto's stuff. buy a haynes manual if you can't figure out how to hit something with a hammer.
