i know I dont drive a X, do take my advice with a grain of salt, but i will add my .02.

fortune auto without a question. as other people have mentioned, they are not made in the USA, but have headquarters here, and can be easily re-built or re-tuned if needed. 50mm piston is also much better than BC. high quality product, at an affordable price. also can be custom valved for whatever you like, another bonus that most manufactures do not offer in this price range.

for me, customer service is almost as important (if not equally) as the product itself. I can personally vouche for the amazing customer support of fortune auto. owner is a great guy, CS is top notch. if you have a problem, they will go above and beyond to correct the issue and keep you, the customer, satisfied.

with that being said, again take my advice for what it is worth.

So I have decided on the Fortune Autos. Will be ordering these today hopefully. Not sure what kind of spring rate to go with since it is free custom rates. Any ideas?

Reviving this to see if anyone has more input. Here are some things that I've found about reading up on these two systems. Please feel free to add your two cents if you have actual experience.

Fortune auto 500 pros
-great customer service
-comfortable ride quality for a dd
-bigger piston. Housing
-dyno tested to ensure consistency
-compatible with upgradable swift springs

Cons
-lacks. Mounting bracket for abs sensor
-made in taiwan
-difficult to adjust rear camber settings

Bc racing pros
-warranty (can replace each assembly for around 100 each)
-durable in all weather conditions
-made in usa

Cons
-mixed reviews (some say they develop noise and some have experience failure)
-not as" pretty" as the fortunes

Ill add more if I come across other reviews. Sorry for the format as I am writing this on a cell phone

Fortune Auto rebuilds are $125 and are done in the US...so down time is minimal. They also use Amsoil for fluid.
BC Racing is cheaper at $95 per rebuild but not done in the US.
BC Racing coils are also made in Taiwan.
Fortune Autos also have the same or even better durability than the BCs.
You will find most coil overs don't have a mount for the brake line brackets.
Most coil overs will have some noise associated with the springs binding.

Right now I have Fortune Autos and I have found their quality to be excellent, brackets and mounts are stout. Comfort is near stock with some bounciness, but that is common for all lower end coil overs. I find them equivalent and in some areas better than Stance LX or Teins SS.

lol...what makes you think these are durable in all weather conditions? I've seen so many rusted. Not saying Fortune Autos won't but both aren't aluminum shock bodies so they will rust over time. And both are made in Taiwan.

You will rarely find aluminum shock bodies. The durability drastically drops with aluminum bodies.

If it were me I would run The Fortune's with the Optional Swift spring.

There seems to already be a clear winner in this thread.

I own the BC's. No complaints, no problems, great quality. I haven't had the car that long, but I know a bunch of S2k's who rock BC's for a few seasons still running strong. They're all big fans.
