Coilover help

Hey guys,

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a set of coilovers but maybe someone here can help

I'm stuck between Apexi S1 vs Tein SS

Basically i'm just looking for a good daily driver coilover. They are both around the same price, but I was just seeing if I could get any feedback from anyone here who has tried these. I've read maybe one review on the Apexi and none for tein and I have searched.

Thanks!

Hard to get help when you give us 2 crap choices. If you wanna go cheap, just get some BC coilovers. Atleast you'll have a warranty in the USA. (And if you're looking to do performance driving at all, I'd look in to some springs + bilsteins and swaybars which will make a better combo than any of the 2 choices + the one I gave you )

The thing you should really ask yourself is: "Why are you ready to pull the trigger on coilovers?"

If the answer is anything else than "I want adjustable ride hight", than both of your choices are a bad idea...

Thanks for the response.

Yes, the only reason I'm getting coilovers is for adjustable ride height. But I want to know why you think both those choices are bad ideas?

I'm assuming because both of them are around $1500 each and probably cheaply made? The good thing about Apexi is that I live maybe 40mins from their USA center... So repairs wouldn't be an issue.

Havent heard much about BC, but I'll look into it thanks.

If you're in the 1500$ price range, I really REALLY recommend you stretch those additional 200 or 300 to get those KW Variant 3's. You'll never look back compared to any of the choices in this thread.

It's hard pressed to find a brand new set of KW V3's for $200 - $300 more than what the OP wanted to pay. You can probably find it at that price used.

I have been quoted around $1800 for KWs several times by venders on this site. I bought KWs for another car for $1900 shipped.

Really? Who might these vendor's be? I would like to contact them and get a deal on some KW V3's if that is the case.

Yeah, some of the Taiwanese coilovers aren't decent, AMR's, BC, Stance have had decent reviews.

Didn't someone here break a KW?

I love KW V3s.. got them now on our 335i, and runs AWESOME.

The adjustability fir both ride height and dampening/rebound is precise and feels great.

On teh other hand, I personally had BC Racing BR coilovers, which are great quality, basic, cheap, and of course, we got them in stock always!

The KWs we can sell for around 1900 as another member pointed out, we have great deals on KW. BC Racing same thing, awesome deals on those as well, just shoot me a PM or give me a call for pricing or if I can help any of you out with any questions.

BC is local to us, great guys and fast shipping as well!

Hope this helps!

As much as I respect robevo, he is the only person I have heard of having a failure of this magnitude with KWs.

Have heard about more failures from BCs for sure. Most of the complaints about KWs have to do with them being too hard or soft which, after having them for a while, has to do with learning how to adjust them more than anything.

I didn't mean anything bad about KW's. I actually have them ready to put on my car, so that kinda means I'm sure about the product regardless of that single failure
