Tire Chains?
I've never run chains... and depending on where you are... I think they're illegal too since they'd eff up the asphalt.
There are rubber versions of tire chains tho... that people can strap on if they are going to drive out into really bad conditions.

Where do you live that your considering chains? Ive lived in a climate that goes down to -40c in the winter and absolutely dumps snow for 6 months out of the year and I have never used chains. A good dedicated winter tire is all you'll need.

Most states do not allow chains or studded snows. You need to check your local DOT to see if they allow them.
And really, for the cost of a set of chains, you are not too far off from all-seasons or dedicated snows. I would recommend those options over chains. The compound in the OEM tires is not usable in temperatures under 40F.

if you cant get around with good winter tires on your evo, then you shouldn't go at all. Probably the conditions are beyond the safe driving with the evo. Most problems you can have is the car sits too low, so from there the chain will not help. OR you find a very icey conditions , which leads to the same thing. Stay off the roads.
