Speedline Wheels - Adapters. Need input

Hi guys. I have a friend with an Evo X. He is looking at a set of Speedline Corse Turini wheels that are 5X112 18x8 and with ET42. Originally they're made for VW/Audi hub.

Would it be able to fit these with adapters on an EVO X? These guys here http://www.motorsport-tech.com/contact.html can make them, but I would need some advice here on which size adapters to get done?

I ask because these wheels are local to us in Brazil and we have a very strict import process and around 78% import duty, so it would be worth the effort knowing they're already local, brand spanking new. If it can be safely done, I would appreciate input on which size adapters and specs.

Thanks so much!

The stock wheels are 8.5". Why would you go to a smaller wheel? Seems like you are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole with the offset and lug pattern.

Edit - the wheels look almost identical to the stock X wheels, too. Not quite sure what you are trying to do here.

Trying to sell these wheels and my friend wants them, so instead of importing them I wonder if it would be possible to fit these with adapters.

If you guys are really friends, you should educate him a bit and sell the wheels to someone else.

I wrote this to be easier to get advice. The truth is I have the wheels listed on our local eBay and I have to sell them. Just want to know if it can be done.

Are you sure they are 5x112? Ive never heard of that pattern. Not to say it doesnt exist, just havent heard of it. Evo X has a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. You need wheels with that bolt pattern for them to even fit around the wheel studs, even before things like offset come into play.

From an offset perspective, you should be ok. The wheel will be 1/4" further away from the center of the car due to being .5" narrower in diameter, but then +4mm closer due to the higher offset. 1/4" = ~6mm. End result is the wheels will be 2mm closer to the suspension and brake components than the stock wheels.

If he is your friend, why not just throw them on his car and see how the fit is?

the evo can handle an offset of up to +15, if you want to be safe and not have to roll the fenders then a +22 if perfect, so you would need adapters made for 20 mm, basically you would need a 20mm adapter, going from 114.3 to bolt up to the evo, to 112 for the wheels and they should work, also keep in mind that the evo wheel bore size is 67.1 so get hub centric adapters hopes this helps
