Clunk front driver side when braking and turning

I have a clunk noise when I'm braking at slow speed (like to stop at traffic light or a STOP sign). I have the exact same clunk when I'm turning right.

I've read a lot and thought it was the CV joint, so last Thursday, I went to a garage, we removed the axle shaft, we remved the boots (tranny and wheel) we cleaned everything. The bearing and every component inside were all in good condition. We checked the boots and they are perfect. We put back some grease, the boots and clamps and put everything back on the car.

During the weekend, I only drove on short distance and there were no clunk. This morning, I drove to work, so after 20 minutes, when I slowed down to stop at a traffic light, the clunk reappeared and as well when I turned right.

HELP!!

fogot to tell that it is a multiple clunking sound...clunk clunk clunk clunk, as the wheel turns

Humm that does not sounds healthy, I have a clunk too but I think its my front endlinks. Have you done your brakes lately? Calipers are tight? I'm guessing you shook the front end when you had it in the garage ? (to test for bad ball joint or tie rod end) maybe wheel bearing...

How many Miles on your car?

This seems to be a pretty common issue with all evo models. Ive been to several VIII & IX threads looking for a solution. No one seems to have a real answer though.

I had some clunking sounds every time I drove over a small bump or cracks in the road.
I brought it to the dealership and they replaced a couple of parts:

4013A181-left front lower control arm
4013A182-right front lower control arm

I haven't had any clunking sounds at all since I had both parts replaced a few months ago.

On my side, I have no lcunk on bumps...it's only when turning right or when slowly braking to a stop.

No clunks at all bumps.

I'll have my control arm check anyways.

Goes without saying, but make sure your wheels and lugs are seated correctly, and properly torqued.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me.
