DW's or RE760

Just wondering which tire I should get. Bridgestone's Potenza RE760 Sport or Continental's ExtremeContact DW. Looking for good handling and decent treadwear. If it matters I'm gonna get 265/35/18.

Sorry, I haven't used either.

For great handling and decent treadwear in a summer-only tire I went with Michelin Pilot SuperSports. They're going to handle much better than those two and have slightly lower treadwear.

I have the extreme contact DWS, they're a GREAT all around tire, perform awesome in rain and even snow. But when it comes to going around turns, they break loose fairly easy. If you're just looking for a good all around tire, I'd say go for it. If you're looking for performance, look elsewhere.

DWS isn't a summer tire at all, the DWs are. Grip should be a lot better on the DW than the DWS, but again, the PSS will be better still.

I have the 760's I have no complaints. A little skiddish in the rain, I just drive with more caution.

I have 760 AS, and the tread wore on my fronts in 8K miles. They're completely bald, and I had my alignment done at the same time the tires were installed. Tire Rack is going to warranty the front 2 at a prorate for the life I didn't get out of the tires, but that's just my experience on the tread life. They were pretty damn good when they were new though. Best AS tires i've owned.

I just picked up a set of Toyo T1 sports in that size and they are pretty decent tires. I got them for 720 for all 4 out the door. I had the re760s on my dsm and evo and it seems they were noisier than the toyo proxes 4 I had. I then switch from the Proxes 4 to a dedicated summer/winter setup. The t1 sports are also (Y) rated. They are a much lower tread wear rating though which is a downside.

You'll get a bit better dry traction and response out of the DW, better ride and a little more life out the 760. Really don't have anything bad to say about either one. I have a lot of dd owners that want a sport tire w/out the maintenance use the 760's and are very happy. To get that slightly better grip when cornering that more aggressive drivers seek, you'd want the DW.

Thanks for all the great input. I'm gonna go with the DW's.
